The Indonesia Section Joint Chapter of IEEE Geoscience & Remote Sensing Society & IEEE Aerospace & Electronics Systems (GRS29/AES10) serves the professionals in the Indonesia area and its surrounding through periodic conferences, technical meetings, short courses and training. After successful and published two previous ICARES Conferences series, in 2018 we will host:

We would like to welcome your paper to be contributed to the conference, covering vast subjects enlisted hereunder. The ICARES 2018 will be a platform for disseminating timely information both in the advancement of an aerospace based vehicle and sensor technology including UAV, micro-satellites technology, maritime & land mobile communications, stochastic control design for aerospace vehicle, as well as advancement in the microwave remote sensing, SAR technology, and Big SAR Data processing. The event shall become a unique opportunity for the AESS, GRSS and other IEEE Chapters to exchange views and disseminating new trends and advances in the respected fields.

During the conference, in collaboration with CHAPNET program of GRSS Chapter, unique and up-to-date short courses will be given by eminent Professors and Distinguished Expert among others as follows :

Welcome to Indonesia Section IEEE Aerospace & Electronics System Society and the Geoscience & Remote Sensing Society Joint Chapter

 

The Joint Aerospace & Electronics System Society and the Geoscience & Remote Sensing Society were approved to be established in Indonesia by the IEEE in May 2013. This joint chapter becomes a platform for members interested in Aerospace & Electronics as well as Geoscience & Remote Sensing.

We held various technical meetings including symposiums, conferences, seminars, workshops, tutorials, and so forth. Within a year there are one or two major engineering meetings, two tutorials, member gathering, and also member meetings for the election of the board. We also conduct international conferences independently or together with other chapters or with other national organizations such as National Institute of Aeronautics & Space (LAPAN), Agency For The Assessment And Application Of Technology (BPPT), and also with other national professional organization.

Since 2013 we conduct several activities such as conferences, tutorial, workshops etc. and two successful ICARES conferences which already published in IEEE Xplore® No. 7001437 & 7429454.

We have missed ICARES 2016 and ICARES 2017 due to three important events in Indonesia as below:

  1. LAPAN-A3/LAPAN-IPB Satellite blasted using PSLV-C34 satellite launcher rocket from the Satish Dawan Space Centre on 22 June 2016
  2. Telkom 3S blasted using Ariane 5 satellite launcher rocket from the Guiana Space Center on 14 February 2017 On this regards, we would also to deliver great appreciation to all parties that supported the launching of the satellites.
  3. Mount Agung eruption 2017 in Bali that makes the cancellation of several activities in Bali

About AESS

The IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society (AESS) provides a global professional home for engineers working in the electronic systems domain.

The Society offers a unique opportunity to become deeply connected with the three pillars of the Aerospace, Electronic and Defence sector: Industry, Institutions and Research Centers. Effective interaction between those pillars is the key element for the organization, design, development and operation of successful Complex Systems, which are the core of the AESS Field of Interest.

AESS Complex Systems cover the space, air, ocean and ground environments, including hardware, software, integration and many other aspects of the Engineering job.

The fields of interest of the Society are the theory, concepts, and techniques of science and engineering as they apply to the remote sensing of the earth, oceans, atmosphere, and space, as well as the processing, interpretation and dissemination of this information.

About GRSS

The fields of interest of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (AESS) are the theory, concepts, and techniques of science and engineering as they apply to the remote sensing of the earth, oceans, atmosphere, and space, as well as the processing, interpretation and dissemination of this information.

Members of GRSS come from both engineering and scientific disciplinary backgrounds. Those with engineering backgrounds often support geoscientific investigations with the design and development of hardware and data processing techniques, thereby requiring of them familiarity in areas such as geophysics, geology, hydrology, meteorology, etc. Conversely, discipline scientists find in GRSS a forum for the dissemination and evaluation of remote sensing related work in these areas. This fusion of geoscientific and engineering disciplines gives GRSS a unique interdisciplinary character and an exciting role in furthering remote sensing science and technology.
